Hummus — spicy jalapeño

Ingredients

Onion — 1 small, coarsely chopped

Water — splash

Garlic — 5 cloves, coarsely chopped

Garbanzo beans (chickpeas) — 2 15-ounce cans, drained

Tahini — 1/2 cup (8 to 9 ounces)

Lemon juice — 1/2 cup

Jalapeño pepper — 1, seeded and chopped

Cumin — 1 teaspoon

Cayenne pepper — 1/4 teaspoon (less if you’re afraid)

Salt — 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

Microwave the chopped onion for 1 to 2 minutes with a splash of water added and covered lightly (or you can sauté it for five minutes with a little oil and/or water in a small pan). Then add it and all of the other ingredients to a food processor. Blend until it’s smooth.
